§ 12-106. Supervisor.

  • Supervisor is an employee having the authority, in the interest of the employer, to do one of the following: to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline other employees, or responsibly to direct them, or to adjust their grievances, if in connection with the foregoing the exercise of authority is not of a mere routine or clerical nature, but requires the use of independent judgment. Examples of nonsupervisory positions from the Fiscal Year 1975 Authorized Positions Chart include the following: Fire Captain, Police Sergeant, Maintenance Foreman, Sanitation Foreman, Community Center Supervisor I, Code Compliance Inspector II, Programmer II, Planner I, Building Inspector II, Construction Inspector II, and Engineering Technician II.
