§ 13-202. Licensing for contractors and journeymen.

  • (a)

    No person shall install, service, alter, or repair on consumer premises any systems of air conditioning or heating or refrigeration as a contractor or journeyman in that trade without having first obtained a license as provided in this chapter.

    (b)

    No corporation, partnership or business shall engage in the installation or servicing, alteration or repairing on consumer premises any systems of air conditioning or heating or refrigeration without an appropriate contractor as an active officer of the corporation or an active member of the firm; and the name and address of such contractor and the name and address of the corporation or firm shall be certified and registered with the Clerk.

    (c)

    No exception is provided that will allow an owner occupant of a single-family dwelling to perform air conditioning, heating or refrigeration work on the dwelling occupied by that owner occupant or owner occupant's immediate family.
