§ 13-1203. Public hearing.

  • (a)

    Upon receipt of the application for a kennel license, proof of publication and receipts of certified mailings, a public hearing shall be placed on the agenda of the Kennel License Review Board, which Board shall consist of, but not be limited to, the City Clerk, the Animal Welfare Officer, the Noise Control Officer, the Director of Planning and Community Development, or his designee, the City Attorney, a Code Compliance Inspector, and a Health Department Official, or their respective designees. The Kennel License Review Board shall approve or disapprove the application for kennel license.

    (b)

    A public hearing will be placed on the agenda of the Kennel License Review Board if a kennel location has more that three (3) animal related complaints within a six-month period, or if a complaint of animal cruelty is filed at the location, or at the request of any Kennel License Review Board member. The Kennel License Review Board shall continue, modify or revoke the current kennel license issued for the location being reviewed.
