§ 15-204. Records to be maintained, not public records.

  • (a)

    The Police Department shall maintain in alphabetical order the defendant's name, a record of all alleged violations of this chapter and of any state criminal laws with which a person has been charged, and with which the Norman Police Department has been involved, and a record of the disposition of those charges.

    (b)

    All records required by the above subsection shall be maintained for a period of at least five (5) years.

    (c)

    All records are not of a public nature, and may individually be released only to the particular involved individuals, the City Legal Department, the Police Department, Courts ofcompetent jurisdiction, other law enforcement agencies, governmental agencies entitled by law to receive such records, or their respective agents.

    (d)

    Any and all other records of reports maintained by the Police Department shall be available for inspection only by the Police Department, City Legal Department and Courts of competent jurisdiction.

    (e)

    Summaries of reports described by subsection (d) may be released at the discretion of the Police Department.
