§ 2-201. Duties of the Department of Planning and Community Development.

  • The Department of Planning and Community Development, under the supervision of the Director of Planning and Community Development, or his designee, shall:

    (1)

    Inspect the construction, alteration, or remodeling of buildings and structures, the installation of electrical wiring and of plumbing, and those electrical, gas, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and plumbing fixtures and facilities installed within the City;

    (2)

    Establish a schedule of inspection and reinspection fees for those items constructed or installed in Chapter 5 of this Code, such schedule to adequately reflect not less than the actual costs of the City, and such schedule to be certified by the Director of Planning and Community Development, or his designee, and filed with the City Clerk;

    (3)

    Act as designee of the Cleveland County Health Department for the enforcement of any health provisions of the Code of the City;

    (4)

    Specifically enforce the provisions of Chapter 5, Chapter 10, Chapter 13, Chapter 15, Chapter 18, and Chapter 22 of this Code;

    (5)

    Promulgate and enforce such rules, regulations and procedures for the efficient administration of those duties required by this article.
