§ 8-304. Abandoned or unclaimed personal property or money or legal tender property and impounded vehicles to be sold; exceptions.

  • (a)

    The provisions of this section as provided in O.S., Title 11, § 34-104 (Disposition of personal property or money or legal tender), and any subsequent amendments thereto, are hereby incorporated into the Code of the City with the same force and effect as if fully set out in this section.

    (b)

    Excepted from the requirement of public auction are:

    (1)

    Personal property that was delivered to the Police Department by a person other than a City employee who found such lost or abandoned property, in which case such property shall be delivered back to the finder after the expiration of the sixty-day period.

    (2)

    Impounded vehicles which the owner or other person entitled thereto seeks to redeem, (through payment of all fines, costs assessed, and towing and storage charges, if any), prior to the sale thereof, even though notice of sale has already been given.
