§ 1. Appointment, removal and compensation of Municipal Judge.

The Municipal Court of the City of Norman as provided by the Constitution and laws of the State of Oklahoma is hereby continued except as herein provided. The Mayor, with the consent and approval of the Council, shall appoint a registered voter of the City of Norman, who shall be a licensed attorney, and whose other qualifications may be set by ordinance, as judge of said court with the official title of Municipal Judge, who may be removed from his position if five City Councilmembers approve a motion to remove: provided, that such action be undertaken at a regular meeting of the City Council. Said Municipal Judge shall be entitled to such compensation as may be prescribed by ordinance.
