§ 13-1702. Licensing for contractors.

  • (a)

    Except as herein provided, no person shall install, alter, maintain or repair any plumbing system or equipment as a contractor in that trade without having first obtained a license as provided in this chapter.

    (b)

    No corporation, partnership or business shall engage in the installation or servicing, alteration or repairing of any plumbing lines, system, or equipment without an appropriate contractor as an active officer of the corporation or an active member of the firm; and the name and address of such contractor and the name and address of the corporation or firm shall be certified and registered with the Clerk.

    (c)

    Any owner occupant of a single-family dwelling may perform without a plumbing license, plumbing work on the dwelling occupied by that owner occupant or owner occupant's immediate family if the owner performs all the work himself.
